Check out what this leading medical oncologist has to say about the use of liquid biopsies in lung cancer.

Dr Nicholas Roh from Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, said, “I think liquid biopsy is one of the most exciting new technologies that we have in oncology in general but particularly, in lung cancer. What liquid biopsy means is that we are able to learn more about your tumor by taking a simple blood test.”

“Most tumors, not all, but most shed DNA into the blood by cell turnover and we are able to pick that DNA out of the blood from these test tubes and learn about different characteristics of the tumor that may help us figure out the right treatments for them,” said the Assistant Professor of Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
